Feature Documentary: Libertad (in Production)

"Libertad" is a feature documentary currently in Production. The film tells the story of Alejandra, an Indigenous, transgender woman from Mexico who escaped violence in her hometown by migrating to the U.S. 30-years-ago. Alejandra's journey of reconciliation with the people and place that couldn't keep her safe long ago turns into an unexpected path of liberation and solidarity on both sides of the border.

"Libertad" is Avila-Hanna's first feature documentary.
